Coordinated School Health and Family Resource has partnered to implement the "#GetYourSelfieToSchool" campaign to several schools this year. As a pilot program, we started at Harriman Middle last school year which increased their attendance rate and decreased chronic absenteeism. With the success of HMS, we have added Rockwood Middle and Midtown Elementary to begin the campaign this school year. All three schools have held #GetYourSelfieToSchool kickoffs, communicated expectations, and have taken a positive approach in creating a healthy school environment.
The "Get Your Selfie to School" campaign is a creative and engaging initiative designed to boost student attendance and tackle chronic absenteeism in a fun and innovative way. The primary goal of this campaign is to encourage students to attend school and help decrease chronic absenteeism. By combining the ubiquity of selfies with a positive and rewarding approach, the "Get Your Selfie to School" campaign aims to create a culture where attending school is not only a responsibility but also a source of pride and enjoyment for students.
CSH and FRC are also working with local business and the chamber of commerce to bring community and school together in order to communicate the importance of attendance and the impact of how attendance is directly correlated in the success of our student's future endeavors. #attendancematters

In collaboration with the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, Roane County Schools, the Roane County Education Foundation, and the cities of Harriman, Kingston, and Rockwood, the Roane County Office of Emergency Services is seeking your support to aid victims of the catastrophic flooding affecting neighboring counties.
We are currently responding to an urgent request from the Cocke County School District for water. If you are able to help, please drop off bottled water at any of the following locations by 11:00 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, October 1st):

At this time, we are only collecting water. Before gathering any additional supplies, we will wait for guidance from county and city officials in the affected areas to ensure that we are meeting the specific needs of those impacted by this disaster. While we understand that many people are eager to help, it is crucial to coordinate efforts in a way that truly benefits those in need.
Additionally, several local churches are working directly with congregations in the impacted communities. You may contact them for further opportunities to assist.
Thank you for your generosity and support during this difficult time.
