Chronic Absenteeism Awareness
๐ Letโs work together to reduce chronic absenteeism! ๐ซโจ
Did you know thereโs a difference between being chronically absent and being truant?
โ Chronic Absenteeism: Missing 10% or more of the school year (about 18 days), for ANY reasonโexcused or unexcused.
โ Truancy: Unexcused absences when a student skips without a valid reason or documentation.
Even excused absences add up! Missing just 2 days a month can put students at risk of falling behind. ๐
๐ก Important Reminders:
โ๏ธ If your child misses school, please send in a parent note or doctorโs excuse within 3 days of their return.
โ๏ธ Did you know? Telehealth visits ๐ฉบ are available through your childโs school, just complete the paperwork to use this convenient option!
