Kingston area schools will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow.
Kingston schools (Kingston Elementary School, Cherokee Middle School, and Roane County High School) will dismiss early at 12:30 p.m. today, March 10, 2026, due to a water outage.
Important Notice: Kingston Elementary 3rd grade students are currently on a field trip. They will return to the school this afternoon and will be dismissed when they arrive. Students may be picked up at their school when they return. Buses will be available for all others that are remaining.

This March, it is game time for attendance! Each elementary, middle, and high school in Roane County Schools is competing to see who can have the highest percentage of students present during the month of March.
The schools with the best attendance in each division will take the win. 🎉

All 10th and 11th grade students across Roane County Schools recently attended the Roane County Roadshow hosted at Roane State Community College. Students had the opportunity to learn about nuclear programming, dual enrollment, post-secondary pathways, and apprenticeship opportunities from our partners at TCAT Harriman, Roane State, and C.A.L.M.
The event also featured a keynote address from Teresa Duncan, the nuclear workforce lead strategist for the Tennessee Board of Regents. In addition to serving as vice president of workforce development at Roane State, Duncan helps lead the College System of Tennessee’s nuclear strategy to continue building a highly skilled nuclear workforce in Tennessee.
We appreciate all of our partners who helped make this event a success and for investing in the future of Roane County students.
Roane County Schools representatives presented to educators from around the state at the Coordinated School Health 2026 Institute in Nashville.
Mike Barber and Yvette Reeder shared about our efforts to stop vaping in schools.
They were also recognized with awards for their work in creating healthy and safe school environments. Mike Barber was a top three finalist for the Coordinated School Health Champion of the Year Award, and Yvette Reeder was a finalist for the Healthy School Environment Award.
Tony Clower and our Student Support Services representatives also shared how they are able to help support students.

Through this partnership, pediatricians can evaluate symptoms and recommend treatment via secure video conferencing right from the school clinic. If your child becomes sick while at school, this service allows them to be seen quickly without you having to leave work or schedule a separate appointment. A special time designed for individuals with autism, sensory processing disorders, and other disabilities.
Rides will operate at slower speeds and music volume will be lowered to create a more comfortable experience.
