In Roane County, we believe in innovative and engaging ways to assess our students' understanding of key concepts. That's why our 4th graders at DSES recently embarked on a thrilling escape room adventure centered around the American Revolution!
In this immersive learning experience, students had to solve puzzles, decode clues, and piece together historical events to unlock the next part of the story. Each puzzle was carefully crafted to assess their comprehension of key themes, figures, and events from this pivotal period in American history.
Not only did this hands-on activity challenge our students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills, but it also made learning about the American Revolution an unforgettable adventure!

If you’ve got a problem, we’ll solve it! Students at Bowers Elementary School are learning multiple strategies for solving math problems. Whether it’s drawing shapes or sticks, using counters, making ten, or remembering facts, our young mathematicians find the strategy that works best for their brain and apply it to their work.
