In Roane County, we believe in innovative and engaging ways to assess our students' understanding of key concepts. That's why our 4th graders at DSES recently embarked on a thrilling escape room adventure centered around the American Revolution!
In this immersive learning experience, students had to solve puzzles, decode clues, and piece together historical events to unlock the next part of the story. Each puzzle was carefully crafted to assess their comprehension of key themes, figures, and events from this pivotal period in American history.
Not only did this hands-on activity challenge our students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills, but it also made learning about the American Revolution an unforgettable adventure!

By using their hands and imaginations, our young learners are bringing characters to life in a fun and engaging way. This hands-on approach not only enhances their language arts skills but also sparks their creativity and boosts their confidence as storytellers.
With each squish of playdough and twist of a pipe cleaner, our students are learning valuable lessons in character development, setting, and plot—all while having a blast!
