Good Evening, Bowers Families! We are still planning to have our field day tomorrow, Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes, preferably ones that are not new, as the field may be damp in areas. Students may also bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as we never know what the weather will do. It's going to be a wonderful day! Thank you for sending back permission slips for students to attend!
Third and fourth grade students who are interested in trying out for the Bowers Sweethearts please note that all paperwork and permission slips must be turned in by tomorrow. Students attending the dance clinics and tryouts must have a ride home; buses will not be running.

Reminder for 2nd Grade Families: field trip forms and money are due this Friday, May 9th. If you are able to chaperone, we would love to have you. We still need several! Have a wonderful evening!
Picture Day is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 7. Students will have spring pictures taken as well as class photos. Additionally, please sign and return the Field Day Permission Slip by Friday. Thank you for your support of our end of the year activities as well as throughout the school year!
It's Teacher Appreciation Week, and we would like to honor our educators who work so hard to love and teach your children. Use the list below for ideas on how to celebrate your child's teacher.
Monday - Send in an encouraging note of thanks, and let your child’s teacher know you appreciate them.
Tuesday - Send in sweet or sour candy to celebrate your child’s teacher.
Wednesday - Send in a plant or flower to thank a teacher for “helping your child grow.”
Thursday - Shout out your child’s teacher on social media OR email Ms. Thompson a shout-out to read over the intercom. athompson@roaneschools.com
Friday - Send in something blue to say I love you to the teachers! Students, wear blue!
K-2 students will begin i-Ready reading and math assessments this week! Each class will be testing on different days and times. Please ensure that students get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school, dress comfortably and bring a lightweight jacket or hoodie, and arrive at school on time. Thank you for your support throughout the testing season!

Testing season is here! Students in grades 3-5 begin TCAP assessments tomorrow! For the next two weeks, help your child be successful by ensuring they get a good night's sleep, have a healthy breakfast at home or school, arrive at school on time ready to learn, have a stress free morning, dress comfortably with layers such as a light jacket or hoodie, and encourage them to do their best. Thank you for your help in removing any possible barriers to a student's day of testing!
Can you believe it’s time for Kindergarten Registration? Please share this information with anyone who may need it. Registration will take place at Bowers Elementary from 2:30-5:30 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025, and on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 7:30-11:30 AM.
Please bring child’s birth certificate, child’s social security number, child’s current physical exam, child’s immunization record, and two proofs of residency.

What to Know about our Two Hour Delay tomorrow, Friday, February 21, 2025:
- Our doors open at 9:30 AM for car riders.
- Tardy Bell rings at 10:10 AM.
- Breakfast and lunch will be served.
- Buses will run; add two hours to students’ regular pickup time. For example, if your child’s bus picks them up at 7:10 AM, they will be picked up at 9:10 AM tomorrow.
- Dismissal will be on a regular schedule.
- Students should be at school ready to learn!
- Coats, gloves, and toboggans/hats are encouraged!
