๐ŸŒŸ In Roane County, we believe in our students.
When we show up for school, we show up for our future.

๐Ÿ“ฌ State Law Reminder: Schools are required to notify parents/guardians in writing when a student reaches certain absence thresholds. These letters are NOT punishments, they are meant to:
โœ”๏ธ Keep families informed
โœ”๏ธ Provide support
โœ”๏ธ Prevent absences from becoming a barrier to success
Together, students, families, staff, and community, we can make every day count!

Chronic Absenteeism Awareness

๐Ÿ“š Letโ€™s work together to reduce chronic absenteeism! ๐Ÿซโœจ
Did you know thereโ€™s a difference between being chronically absent and being truant?
โœ… Chronic Absenteeism: Missing 10% or more of the school year (about 18 days), for ANY reasonโ€”excused or unexcused.
โŒ Truancy: Unexcused absences when a student skips without a valid reason or documentation.
Even excused absences add up! Missing just 2 days a month can put students at risk of falling behind. ๐Ÿ“‰

๐Ÿ’ก Important Reminders:
โœ”๏ธ If your child misses school, please send in a parent note or doctorโ€™s excuse within 3 days of their return.
โœ”๏ธ Did you know? Telehealth visits ๐Ÿฉบ are available through your childโ€™s school, just complete the paperwork to use this convenient option!

Every school day is a chance to learn, grow, and succeed. Letโ€™s make every day count in Roane County Schools!

๐ŸŽ’ Students who attend regularly are more likely to succeed in reading, math, and be on track for graduation.

We want to thank our families for making sure your child is at school every day, on time, and ready to learn. Whether theyโ€™re dropped off in the car rider line or riding the bus, the first step to great attendance starts at home. Thank you, we appreciate YOU! ๐Ÿ‘
