
Inventory
The Materials Center is responsible for inventory of all textbooks, teacher ancillary materials, computers and audio/visual equipment, etc. All equipment received through the Materials Center is engraved with Roane County Schools, Purchase Project and assigned School.
All information is entered in the data program - Equipment Inventory (Item, Serial & Model Number, Vendor, Date, Project, etc.) - Textbook Inventory (Title, ISBN Number, Publisher, Cost, School, etc.)
Copies of inventory are delivered to the school with items delivered, signed and dated by designated person at school and copies are left for school files.
Print ShopA print shop is located in the Materials Center. We are responsible for set-up and printing of all Roane County School forms used by the school system. This includes: Report Cards, Cumulative Records, Student Data Forms, Bus Rules & Regulations, Carbonless Forms, Padded Materials, Booklets, Stationery, Envelopes, and individual school forms upon request and approval. We have an A. B. Dick 360 Offset Press, darkroom for making negatives for offset press, computer direct imaging, laminating machine, comb binders, electric folding machine, electric 22" paper cutter.
Shipping & ReceivingDock 1 - located at the Materials Center is the central shipping and receiving dock for the Central Office and any equipment purchased that is to be inventoried by the Materials Center.
School RegistersThe Materials Center stores all the School Registers for the Roane County Schools from the early 1900's through 1984. The records were computerized after the 1983-84 school year. These records are used for information required to obtain birth certificates and/or information needed by social security and other governmental agencies.
Textbooks are ordered and processed by the Materials Center. Processing includes stamping each book (property of Roane County Schools) and delivery to each school before school begins each year. We also order and deliver all the teacher ancillary materials for each textbook. Inventory of all textbooks by schools is kept at the Materials Center and is available to each school upon request by the Principal.
Textbooks are on a 6-year State Contract and each year different areas are up for adoption:
Section 1 - Mathematics and Computer Education
Section 2 - English Grammar & Composition, English Language Arts, Communication Skills and Foreign Language
Section 3 - Science, Health, Lifetime Wellness, Agriculture & Family & Consumer Sciences
Section 4 - Social Studies & History
Section 5 - Reading (Grades K-6)
Section 6 - Art, Music, Theatre Arts, Spelling, Literature, Driver Education and Vocational Courses
Requests for materials from the Center should be received by 2:00 P.M. on the day prior to the scheduled delivery day to your school. The principal will designate a person at your school to place all requests from the Center.
